The basic comparison being made today regarding abortion and thewhole-sale slaughter of America's unborn is that this process is a Holocost. Although I am an avid supporter of "Right to Life" and other groups desiring to put an end to this travisty, I as a Jew have a real problem with the way in which this comparison has been made, and the way in which the term Holocost has been used in a very flipant manner.
Abortion is infantcide not a holocost. By this statement I do not say that the plight of the unborn is little or unimportant, but I think that we, as christians, should not make comparisons to other follies of mankind in hopes of making a stronger case against something that we already know to be wrong. The holocost was much different in manny different ways.
Outlined below are some of them...
* The holocost was a covert operation began by the members of a radical party that siezed nationalist fervor to increase a certain races lifestyle due to the failure of the Weimar Republic. It was a jealousy and hate issue not an escape from personal responsibility as is with abortion.
* People that have abortions do so as a personal decision. The genocide that took place in Germany was conducted on a national basis, it was a standard operating proceedure. Abortion is a totally different situation..Oh yes, a far worse one. Why? Because mothers and fathers are the ones to make the decision. You see, there is a difference between a mother murdering her own child and a whole family being wipped out by an arbitrary system of mass extermination. It is wrong to compare the death of many who had no control over their predicament to those whose death resulted from far greater a cowardly act. Abortion is merely an escape from the reality of their sin or the responsibility of their actions.
* The world went to war to stop the genocide. Why do we not go on a spiritual war to stop abortion. Well, part of the reason is that we as christians are content in our own little worlds. A spirit filled utopia of the mind, if you will! If we don't come into contact with the unsaved then we do not have to deal with the same situations and trials. We are all what we are because of the grace of G-d and that alone. We are all living the Christian lifestyle of purity because of the grace of G-ds divine intervention and that alone. We are charged with the demonstation of this grace in our every day lives, yet only 40% of all professing, born again, christians are registered to vote.
So, for all or our sakes, please remember the children who are being murdered, but do not refer to it as a Holocost because that is simply not what it is.
